A PhD program comprises of course work and research work which needs to be conducted under a guide chosen by the candidate. Candidates have to think of original ideas in their area of specialization and test those for practicability and make choice of one topic which they want to write their thesis upon, prior to starting research work on any project idea research candidates need to get it approved from authorized faculty (ies) of their institution. A PhD thesis is a detailed report, generally of about two hundred pages, and each and every aspect pertaining to the research concept needs to be explained in detail. Candidates are expected to read as much as possible regarding the past and present context of their topic and properly cite and reference the sources of knowledge so as to comply with non-plagiarism criteria and establish authenticity. The research concept also needs to be supported by primary research, data collection and analysis and findings of the analysis, their usage and applications need to be explained clearly. A PhD thesis write-up includes cover page, approval letter, certificate of conformance with plagiarism criteria, copyrights permission letter, dedication page, acknowledgement page, abstract (not exceeding two pages),table of content, list of figures, list of tables, abbreviations page, main body of text, bibliography and index. The write-up needs to be presented as per the institute’s prescribed format, writing style and referencing guidelines.
